Ian Stone is the manager and part owner of the business his father started, Paramount Painting & Decorating, Ltd. in London, Ontario.   Mr. Stone has been running the company for his father since 1975.

Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Mr. Stone graduated from high school in 1964 and crossed the Detroit River to enroll in the Detroit Institute of Technology in nearby Michigan. After two years of attending college, Mr. Stone realized he would rather immediately begin working for his father's company in the contracting field and left Detroit to return to Ontario to pursue his chosen career.

In 1968, Mr. Stone left Paramount Painting & Decorating to further hone his skills in the field as a contractor with National Painting and Decorating in Ontario. Two years later, he returned to Paramount Painting and Decorating as an estimator and became the manager and part owner of the company in 1975.

In 2002, Ian Stone was appointed as an IUPAT JATF Trustee by General President James Williams to represent Canada. He is past president of the London and District Construction Association, and current president of the Ontario Painting Contractors Association. Mr. Stone remains active in philanthropic activities and has served two terms as chairman of the London United Jewish Appeal, once in the mid-1980s, and once in the early 1990s.
